SACRED HEART ATHLETIC CLUB

Sacred Heart Athletic Club (SHAC) provides an interscholastic, competitive sports program, as an extension of the Sacred Heart School philosophy and academic program.  It is open to the children of club members of Sacred Heart School/Parish.  The philosophy of Sacred Heart School includes the education of the WHOLE PERSON — the religious, moral, social, and academic dimensions, as well as, physical development. Participants are instructed in the fundamentals of each various sport, and are afforded the opportunity to develop strong, healthy, and disciplined minds and bodies. Participants also develop a sense of good sportsmanship, fair play, and team spirit.

Although the SHAC officers operate and oversee these programs, all programs are subject to the overall direction and authority of the pastor, by virtue of his office (Archdiocesan Policy); the principal (Archdiocesan Policy); and any additional pertinent policies of the Educational Committee/Commission of the Parish Council.

— (The Sacred Heart School principal maintains primary authority over the Athletic Program within the school. The responsibility is shared with the pastor or his designee in any parish-sponsored sports program.)

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. in the Rectory Basement Hall.

Sacred Heart School maintains an academic eligibility policy for all student-participants involved in the Athletic Program.
