A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Greetings in the Lord!   At this time I also extend a special welcome to the entire school community, parents/guardians, teachers and students!

This online handbook has been designed to help you become more knowledgeable with our purposes, policies and procedures at Sacred Heart School.  If your child is to make progress, we, the faculty and the school, need your support and personal interest.  You are your children's primary educators, and together we collaborate.  Sacred Heart School is a FAMILY.  Because we love God, we worship God together and privately.  Furthermore, we work together; we play together; we grow together, and we forgive one another.  We serve God; we serve each other.  We are many; we are one.  We, together are a family; we are a school community.

It is our hope that your child will experience a school program with us that will insure continuity of learning; one in which they will develop competence, self-esteem, and will work to their optimum ability, using all the tools of learning which includes the technological tools and skills available at Sacred Heart School.  It is our hope that they will thoroughly enjoy their work and have many memorable experiences here in our Christian Franciscan communities (Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart School).

We sincerely attempt to meet the needs of your child by talking them from where they are, and by helping/guiding/teaching them to work in a comfortable environment.  As Christian educators we seek to establish an atmosphere animated by the Gospel spirit of respectful love and responsible freedom in which each student can grow to their individual stage of maturation.

Only with the grace and strength of God and our UNITED efforts will the work of Christian education come to greater completion.  Our purpose is to CREATE A CHRISTIAN EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY, WHEREIN HUMAN CULTURE, KNOWLEDGE and TECHNOLOGY, ENLIGHTENED AND ENLIVENED BY FAITH, ARE SHARED AMONG PARENTS/GUARDIANS, TEACHERS, and STUDENTS IN A SPIRIT OF FREEDOM and LOVE.  Together, inclusively and prayerfully, we continue with the grace of God to journey in the twenty-first century, imploring God’s blessings for ourselves and our beloved children.

In the spirit of Lighting the Way to the Future, we place our handbook into your hands that it may  serve your needs, and be used as a guide for yourselves and for your children.  If there are doubts or questions, the principal and/or teachers are available to discuss them with you and/or your children.

May the peace and joy of  St. Francis animate you and be with you, and us, as we embark upon another school year in our journey together.
