SCHOOL ATTIRE . . .
Uniform attire adds a dimension to the atmosphere of
learning at Sacred Heart School. There is an adopted school uniform policy
for Sacred Heart Parish School. All students in attendance are to be
dressed in the adopted school uniform. Neatness and cleanliness help set
the stage for better learning. Good grooming is vital. A sense of personal
worth and dignity should motivate each student to look her/his best at all
times.
Hairstyles for both boys and girls are traditional; no
extreme, layered, or fashion cuts. NO dyed hair. Hair must be out of the
eyes and face. During gym/physical education classes’ hair must be tied back
if it is long.
Girls may wear only ONE set/pair of matching post earrings
in the lowest set of hole in the ear lobe. Boys may not wear earrings.
NO make-up, nail polish or artificial nails. NO excessive
jewelry or dangling earrings.
The only arm jewelry for boys and girls is a wrist watch, or
real metal identification bracelet.
NO boots, gym shoes may be worn with the regular school
uniform attire.
When a student earns a dress-down/dress-up pass they are
expected to use good judgment in accord with the guidelines of Sacred Heart
School. Therefore, NO bagging or cut jeans, only traditional jeans or
Jamaica length shorts may be worn on dress down days. On dress-up days
clothing should be appropriate and modest. (No tank or abbreviated top
shirts/blouses, etc.)
Parents/guardians are asked to help the school staff
maintain that pleasing sight of having students clean and completely
well-groomed in uniform attire.
